Don’t forget to enter my contest! You have until Thursday.
Well, it’s been really cold here this week and so I got out some hand knits for Gorgeous Girl to wear. These items were knitted long before she was even a gleam in the eye. I had some yarn leftover from a gift that I had made and I knitted it up into a little jumper and a not so little hat, you know for ‘one day’.

The hat is still a bit big, though the jumper fits quite well.
Yesterday we put her in this outfit from my friend Kerin.

In other news, I have the flu. Friday and Saturday were dreadful, but I’m feeling much better now and just have a runny nose and lingering cough.
I’ve finished quilting another block, I’m not really thrilled with the stitching (note to self, don’t stitch while ill) but I’m not pulling it out because so far I’m on-track for my self-imposed deadline.
There has been reading this weekend.
2008 Book List
18. The Secret Life of a Knitter - Stephanie Pearl McPhee (aka the Yarn Harlot)
19. The Yarn Harlot Casts Off - Stephanie Pearl McPhee
Thanks Beth! I really enjoyed reading them.
Well I’m off to wack on a dvd and do some more hand quilting while Gorgeous Girl is sleeping. Enjoy your weekend.
Feel better! That sounds like good flu reading.
It’s only April! Too soon for you to have the flu. I hope this is the only time you get it this season and feel better.
Those are some great outfits for GG. I love your knitting, and there is just something so great about seeing a babe in hand knits!!
You take care of yourself, okay? Gotta stay in good health!
So sorry you are under the weather. Take good care! Btw the hat and jumper are so darling! The model wears them well!!!
She looks great! As anyone is head to toe handknits will - but she looks especially cute!
Hi Ruth! Oohh, now I see GG has such lovely lashes to go with her gorgeous eyes! She’s such a sweetie.
Oh no, not the flu. Feel better - drink alot and rest alot!
That jumper is adorable - do you remember where you got the pattern? Seamonkey would look great in a v-neck like that - although it’s getting warmer here now…
Love the sweater and hat and really love the toy she has with her. It must be cold for her to wear that pink outfit! Hope you are getting better only one thing worse than having the flu is having it when you have a toddler who wants to play and go for walks so hopefully Araminta…just got to use that name…is not too difficult at this stage and you can rest a bit.
I am about to start a Henning Mankell set in Africa I so love his Scandinavian ones…this is a different character. Read the most fantastic young adult one of his set in Africa about aids in young people and how the value is different in regard sexual partners etc etc…think he won a humanitarian award for that one….lent it to my friend’s son as a good way for him to see about aids and how others live.
Hope you are recovering dear Ruth.
What is she sweet!
Kind regards

You hand knits look beautiful on her. Very nice. I also love the bunny suit.
Hope you feel better soon.
Wow, look at those eyes on Gorgeous Girl! She is getting gorgeous-er and gorgeous-er all the time! Hope you’re feeling better since you posted this, I’m a little behind on blog reading. That Yarn Harlot is a crack up, I saw her when she was doing her tour, she’s too funny!
I’m really behind on my blog reading and just now saw that you read the Yarn Harlot books. I’m glad you enjoyed reading them. I haven’t read her newest one yet. Sorry you were sick!
