There’s been some secret knitting going on for my friend Kerin so I can’t show you that until it is delievered. Mum is going to play courier when she comes at Christmas time.
Actually, there’s been a fair bit of unknitting going on with this project. What I am learning is that my handspun silk stands up really well to being undone and reknit repeatedly…
There has also been some secret scrapbooking going on. But here is a recent page I can show you.
Yes, I’m aware my hand writing goes upwards at the end of the journalling. And proving that everything gets used eventually; see the square embellishments, I stamped them off at Kerin’s place on our trip to Australia in June last year. Only took me 17 months to find the perfect layout for them. The three dimensional roses were a gift from my mum when we were still living in Australia (we left Oz in 2006)…
Speaking of embellishments. I’m looking for some with a Dutch theme so that I can scrapbook our trip earlier this year. If you have access to some and would be interested in a swap let me know. I’m happy to trade handspun yarn, fibre or fabric (no point in trading scrapbooking stuff since 99% of the stuff available here is imported from the USA).
Some spinning.
This is telling me that it wants to be a Traveling Woman shawl. This was my club fibre from Nurturing Fibres winter fibre club.
I can easily see your hand spun as a Traveling Woman!
I was reading another blog (Passing Down Crazy?) and she said the same thing about silk holding up well to frogging. Those little strands are tough!
Lovely yarn. I’ll look out for Dutch themed scrapbooking supplies once I get to the shops, which will be sometime before Christmas, but I can’t make any promises as I’m not very familiar with London’s scrapbooking shop situation.
Your spinning looks fabulous – such lovely year, and so even. I enjoyed knitting the travelling woman 🙂
